Stages to become a Chartered Accountant

The student who would like to join the Course after 10+2 pass or equivalent has to undergo three stages to pursue the CA i.e.

  • Common Proficiency Test (CPT) -   8 months
  • CA IPCC                                            -    1 year
  • CA Final                                             -    1 year

The Student who would like to join the Course after passing the Graduation has to undergo two stages of the CA i.e. 

  • CA IPCC                                            -    1 year
  • CA Final                                             -    1 year

Passing Criteria:

50% in aggregate and 40 in each subject. Otherwise the whole stage is to be reappeared.

Group I

  • Advanced Accounting

  • Corporate Laws and Secretarial Practice 

Group II

  • Cost Management 
  • Management Information and Control Systems 
  • Direct Taxes 
  • Indirect Taxes 


3 years’ Compulsory training with a Company or a Practising CA, which can be done after clearing CA IPCC Group I.

Thus, total time required to complete CA is 5 years provided all papers gets cleared in 1st attempt.

Duration (duration of completion of course at Adhaarshila):

  • Foundation Programme    -   3-4 months*
  • Executive Programme      -    6-7 months*
  • Professional Programme  -    7-8 months*

*Thrice a week – 3-4 hours on each day or Weekend – 6-7 hours on both days
